Your first visit.

If you don’t already pay Freedom Leisure for your squash court time, you need to pay £5 at the Centre reception for the club night – they will then direct you towards our club room, which is above courts 1-4.

You may find the door shut, as the lock unfortunately doesn’t have a latch. If so, just bang on the door and someone will let you in. Then ask anyone there to direct you to the people running the session, who will get you started.

Please do make sure that you will be wearing non marking shoes.

Club Nights

Club nights are from 6:20 to 8:20 on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Initially just pay £5 a session at the centre reception and join in – you do not need to have already become a member.

At the club night we will get you on court with suitable opponents, for a series of 20 minute games, to give you a variety of opponents on the night.

When you arrive there is a system in place to get you in the sequence for going on court. There are a stack of wooden pegs and a holder on the wall to the right of the bar. Every paid up member will have a named peg – if you are not yet a club member there are guest pegs (A, B. C …) that can be used. When you arrive put your peg in the holder above the last peg in there. Whoever is at the bottom chooses next, and can choose any of the six names visible above. (If the queue is longer the other pegs are not yet visible to stop people just playing their friends.) Then both players pegs come out, and the new person at the bottom chooses next.

Membership

Membership is £4 a month, which covers membership with England Squash, access to the club room and bar, and entry into teams and internal leagues. Court time is separate – either paid separately for each session, or through the club discounted direct debit scheme with Freedom Leisure – around £37 a month for all the court time you can eat – 2 bookable courts every day.

Email us and we will send you the bank details to join.

Coaching and beginners

The club also has a coach who can be hired for 1-1 coaching, and will also runs groups, including juniors and beginners. Contact Noah.
